Getting To And From Overnight Camp

There are two ways to drop your camper off on Day 1 of Overnight Camp. You can drop them off at the bus, or you can drop them off at the campsite. Depending on which choice you made on the Transportation Form in the Parent Portal, please follow the directions for the appropriate location.

Option 1: Bus

Drop-off:

  • Date: Monday, August 19st

  • Location: Barnes Memorial Park (Dedham MA 02026)

  • Time: 8:00 AM

When you arrive, you will be greeted by a Camp Casco volunteer, who will give your child a covid test to self-administer. Please make sure you and your camper remain in your vehicle until check-in is complete. A Camp Casco volunteer will then meet you at your vehicle to go over your camper’s relevant medical information, medications, and any other questions or concerns. Once you have completed check-in with the medical volunteer AND your child’s covid test has come back negative, then your camper can exit the vehicle and get ready to load onto the bus.

Please make sure that all medication coming to camp is:

  • easily accessible, as you will be handing these directly to the medical volunteer at check-in,

  • in all original containers (this goes for over-the-counter medications, prescriptions, vitamins, supplements, etc.)

  • entered correctly in your camper’s profile (you can confirm this by logging into the Parent Portal and clicking Camper Medication Review)

Please note that we are not legally allowed to administer any medication (OTC or otherwise) that does not arrive in its original container.

Pick-up:

  • Date: Saturday, August 24th

  • Location: Barnes Memorial Park (Dedham MA 02026)

  • Time: 10:00AM

We expect the bus to arrive around 10:00AM. If you are running late to pick-up, please be sure to call or text 857-302-2726 ASAP!

Option 2: Car

Drop-off:

  • Date: Monday, August 19th

  • Location: Grotonwood - 167 Prescott St, Groton, MA 01450

  • Time: 10:00 AM

When you arrive, you will be greeted by a Camp Casco volunteer, who will give your child a covid test to self-administer. Please make sure you and your camper remain in your vehicle until check-in is complete. A Camp Casco medical volunteer will then meet you at your vehicle to go over your camper’s relevant medical information, medications, and any other questions or concerns. Once you have completed check-in with the medical volunteer AND your child’s covid test has come back negative, then your camper can exit the vehicle and get ready to join in on the fun of camp!

  • Time: 9:00AM

If you are running late to pick-up, please be sure to call or text 857-302-2726 ASAP!

Our counselors need to be out of the campsite at 10:00AM, so late pick-ups are not allowed.

What to expect at Day 1 drop-off:

  • Please do not get out of your vehicle when you arrive!

  • We will be providing rapid antigen tests upon arrival (whether that is to the bus site or to the campsite). .A Camp Casco volunteer will greet you at your car and provide you with a rapid antigen test.

  • A Camp Casco volunteer will meet you at your vehicle while we await the covid test results, and will go over your child's health records. We will confirm any medications your child is bringing, allergies, dietary restrictions, and general care notes.

  • Once they have been checked in by a Camp Casco volunteer, and their covid test comes back negative, they may exit the vehicle and join their fellow campers!

  • If your child is taking the bus, volunteers will provide entertainment for the campers leading up to bus departure. If your child is fully checked in, you do not need to stay until the bus departs.

Please note that we will not be doing daily rapid antigen tests. We will be testing once at drop-off, and as necessary throughout the week.
