HIKEs

for Hope

Every year, on the first weekend of June, we hit the trails in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day.

With every challenging step, we aim to bring hope and happiness to the childhood cancer survivors we serve.

Our Impact

Choose Your Challenge

Whether you’re a bonafide member of the Four Thousand Footer Club or simply looking for a scenic stroll for a great cause, we have the perfect hike program for you. Choose from any of our three hike programs to help turn a child’s fight into a journey filled with joy, friendship, and connection!

Trail Blazers

Come together with your community to make a difference! This flexible hiking challenge unites individuals, teams, and corporate groups to help send children fighting cancer to our life-changing summer camps.

  • Unite your friends, family members, or workplace around an amazing cause. Each team member will have the opportunity to personalize their own fundraising page, earn prizes, and work together to make a difference!

  • Choose the location, distance, and difficulty level that’s right for you! We love seeing our hikers all over the world taking on their own unique challenges. As long as it takes place between 5/17-6/1, you have full creative liberty.

  • As a Trail Blazer, you will be raising funds to help send a childhood cancer survivor to Camp Casco 2025, where they’ll be immersed into a welcoming community of other kids who get it— many, for the very first time. Every dollar raised will help make this transformational experience possible.

Summit Seekers

For moderately experienced hikers, bikers, runners, and rock climbers, join us on a rewarding journey to the top of Mount Washington. With every step, you’ll help kids with cancer create cherished memories and lifelong friendships at our free summer camp.

  • At an elevation of more than 6000 feet, and home to the world’s worst weather, hiking Mount Washington is an incredible feat. Despite its challenges, its scenic views of the spectacular White Mountains make it one of the best hikes in New Hampshire. Our Summit Seekers program will train and prepare a small hike team over the course of several months to conquer this peak together on Saturday 5/31/25.

  • In the months leading up to the hike, Summit Seekers will receive guidance in how to train for this challenging hike. Summit Seekers will be encouraged to work together to train and prepare, building camaraderie throughout the entire experience. Additional safety measures such as Garmin navigation devices and First Aid/CPR-certified Team Captains will be provided to ensure a safe and rewarding experience for all.

  • Every Summit Seeker will commit to a $1000 fundraising goal to help send a childhood cancer survivor to one of Camp Casco’s community-building summer camps in 2025.

Summit Seekers who beat their minimum have the chance to earn extra perks, like a stay at Joe Dodge Lodge!

Camp Champions

For the most experienced hikers, embrace the ultimate challenge and conquer the epic 23+ mile, two-day Presidential Traverse with us to fully fund a childhood cancer survivor’s transformative week at Camp Casco 2025.

  • Our Camp Champions program is perfect for very experienced hikers, who will take on the Presi together May 31 - June 1, 2025.

Conquer one of the most challenging and beautiful hikes in the Whites, reaching over 9K in elevation as you traverse eleven mountains in just two days. This intense mental and physical challenge will provide unmatched views of the White Mountains, a one-of-a-kind bonding experience with your fellow hikers, and an opportunity to connect deeply with our mission.

  • We provide additional safety precautions and support measures to protect our hikers throughout the weekend.

By taking on this challenge with us, you’ll receive hike training guidance, equipment checks, and opportunities to train together to help you arrive prepared. Garmin tracking devices, First Aid/CPR-certified Team Captains, and an onsite support crew will help ensure your safety throughout the challenging weekend.

Additional logistical support, like getting down Mount Washington to a warm shower and hot meal at Joe Dodge Lodge between long hike days, will also be provided to all Champions who reach their fundraising minimum.

  • As a 2025 Camp Champion, you’ll fully fund a childhood cancer survivor’s experience at one of our free annual summer camps in 2025. At Camp Casco, kids increase self-esteem, build independence, develop skills, and create lifelong friendships.

Even better, you’ll give this incredible gift to a deserving child while enjoying your own transformative experience. Through this grueling challenge, you’ll form your own friendships with your fellow hikers, develop even more hiking skills, and increase confidence as you crush this challenge.
