Camp Casco will participate in the 128th Boston Marathon ® presented by Bank of America in April 2024
Sudbury, MA -- September 11, 2023 --- Camp Casco, a nonprofit organization offering free camps and socials for childhood cancer patients, survivors, and siblings in New England, is thrilled to announce its selection to the 2024 Bank of America Boston Marathon Charity Program. Camp Casco joins an elite group of charities that will participate in the 128th Boston Marathon ® presented by Bank of America on April 15, 2024.
Camp Casco was awarded three bibs as part of the Bank of America Boston Marathon Charity Program. Potential runners must apply for a charity bib, submit a training plan, and submit a fundraising strategy outlining how they will achieve their fundraising goal. Camp Casco will select runners in October 2023.
“We are ecstatic to be an Official Charity of the 128th Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America,” says Erin Fletcher Stern, CEO and founder of Camp Casco. “As a Massachusetts resident, the Boston Marathon® is one of my favorite times of the year. To be able to participate in the race and raise money, awareness, and cheer for the athletes running on behalf of Camp Casco is a dream come true.”
The Boston Marathon®, one of the world's most renowned races, has a long history of supporting charitable causes. Through this opportunity, Camp Casco can raise funds and awareness to further its mission and reach supporters nationally and globally. These crucial resources will help provide even more children with transformative opportunities to make life-long connections with other pediatric cancer survivors, siblings, and families.
Camp Casco offers three summer programs in the greater Boston area. Its cornerstone program is a week-long overnight camp for pediatric cancer patients and survivors ages 7-17. Camp Casco also hosts a special getaway designed specifically for siblings of kids diagnosed with cancer and a week-long day camp for cancer survivors, patients, and their siblings. Each camp is hosted at a different Massachusetts campsite and is free for all campers.
