Meet Team Camp Casco - Jeremy Rosenweig
Get to know the three amazing individuals running for Camp Casco in the 2024 Boston Marathon®. We invite you to learn their stories and why they are raising money for Camp Casco.
I've lived in Arlington, MA, for nine years, originally from New Jersey! Running is my hobby, and I'm excited to do something useful with it! I also enjoy cooking and crosswords. With the rest of my non-working life, I'm chasing around our two children, who are 3 and 1 years old.
I love running because I can go out and do it whenever, wherever. It’s a great way to see a new place or get out and see your neighborhood. It’s also a good stress relief. I can zone out and not think too hard about anything.
The 2024 Boston Marathon® will be my first time running Boston, but my 8th marathon overall. I am slowly working my way to running a race in all 50 states! It will be such a role reversal being part of the race I’ve cheered runners through while living here for the last nine years! The energy of this race and what it means to the city and the sport is something to behold. I’m excited for the Wellesley Scream Tunnel, being at the top of Heartbreak Hill, and high-fiving as many of my friends and family as I can along the way.
I heard about Camp Casco because my wife Sam volunteered for them several years ago. Her father passed away from adrenocortical cancer in his early 50s. Sam and her father shared a love of summer camp, so Camp Casco was the perfect way for her to give back in his memory. Now, I’m running for her favorite charity to give back, too!
Making people happy is one of the greatest feelings in the world, and every kid deserves a chance at happiness. I hope we can make many more kids happy from this race.
My advice for anyone who wants to run the Boston Marathon® is to go for it! There are training plans for every level of experience, and there is definitely a charity out there that you can identify with.
