Tis The Season

Join us to embrace the season of giving!

How it works: Each child will get to experience the joy of giving by becoming a Secret Santa for another child in attendance. They’ll receive a list of things their recipient loves, and a gift card to go shopping. After check-out, we’ll help each child wrap their recipient’s gifts, and kick off a magical gift exchange!

Every registered child will have the joy of both giving and receiving a gift. Experience the Camp Casco twist on this holiday classic, where the focus isn’t just on presents, but the magic of connection.

Free to Pediatric Cancer Families

Pediatric cancer patients, survivors, and siblings ages 3-17 are invited to join our Secret Santa gift exchange! Children under 3 are welcome to attend, but will not participate in the gift exchange. There is no cost to participate.

Please note: advance registration is required for this event, and spaces are limited.

 FAQs

  • This event is open to any New England family with a childhood cancer patient, survivor, or sibling under 18.

Kids of all ages are welcome to attend. In order to shop, kids should be age 3-17.

If you have never attended a Camp Casco program before, we ask for the contact information of a physician who can verify your family’s experience with childhood cancer. We must be able to verify your eligibility with this physician before your space is confirmed.

Spaces are limited, and will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Additional registrations will be added to a wait list and offered spaces as they become available.

  • The entire event will take place inside. Shopping for the holiday party will take place inside Target, where other members of the general public may be in attendance. Gift wrapping and gift exchange will take place inside a private room at Sons of Italy Watertown. Masks are strongly encouraged, but not required.

By choosing to attend this event, you accept the inherent risk of gathering in public spaces where others may or may not be masked.

We ask that any participants recently exposed to COVID-19, or who have a fever or possible symptoms of COVID-19, refrain from attending this event.

Please visit our COVID-19 page for additional guidance on our policies and procedures.

  • Camp Casco will provide snacks. All participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle.

  • Each participating child ages 3-17 will be given a $100 Target gift card upon arrival, and the wish list of their recipient. Families will explore the store to pick out items for their recipient. Items must be purchased using the $100 Target gift card, and cannot exceed its value, so kids will be encouraged to track the cost of their shopping and manage their purchasing accordingly.

Gift cards will be collected at the end of shopping, and any remaining balances will be used for camp supplies in 2025.

  • After checking out at Target Watertown, each family will be directed to our private party room, a short drive away. In our private party room, we’ll provide snacks and gift wrapping supplies to help each child prepare their gifts for the gift exchange.

  • We recommend bringing:

    • Reusable water bottle

    • Face mask

    • Calculator, if this would help your child during shopping
