The fight against child cancer inspired Michael Kendall to run Boston

Name: Michael Kendall
Age: 43
From: Scituate

I’m running in the 2021 Boston Marathon to support a joint partnership between local pediatric cancer charities One Mission and Camp Casco. My wife Michelle and I are committed to shining a light on pediatric cancer to generate more awareness and celebrate these young heroes.

Running the Boston Marathon is really just symbolic of the tenacity and resolve these kids exude every day as they literally fight for their lives. That’s a challenge I just cannot imagine and you cannot replicate — but we use this race as a means to raise awareness and, maybe most importantly, funds.

Organizations like One Mission and Camp Casco have provided so much comfort to my daughter, Maeve, who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2015, and her siblings, Fiona and Kellen, during very difficult times for our family.
